New Standard CSA Z663 – Land Use Planning for Pipelines – Outreach

CSA Group will be developing a standard on Land Use Planning for Pipelines starting this fall and is outreaching to all stakeholders to gauge interest in participating on a new CSA Committee.

A CSA workshop was held on May 26, 2016, to discuss this topic and gather information and valuable feedback so that a decision could be made on a path forward.  The Executive Summary of this workshop is attached to this email for you to read. The main outcome from the workshop was that there is a need for a standard and we are now expanding our outreach across Canada to engage with those key stakeholders impacted by this topic.

Over the next few months I will be holding several pre-consultation meetings across Canada to meet with interested parties to discuss the outcomes of the workshop, gaps identified, other potential inclusions, CSA standards development process (time commitment, schedule, development process etc.) and to confirm membership on the CSA committee.

Below is a tentative schedule for the pre-consultations:

BC (Vancouver/Surrey)

AB (Calgary/Edmonton), SK (Saskatoon)

East Coast (TBD)

If you are interested in participating and would like to be part of the pre-consultation meetings or would like to be contacted via phone for further discussions please respond by email  to before August 12th so that arrangements can be made.

Please feel free to distribute this information internally or externally to other stakeholders that may be interested.
