Can the creation of a Damage Prevention Professional designation/certification program help reduce damages and improve safety?
Many professions require certification to be qualified to do the task. Once you are certified you need to meet some ongoing education requirements to stay current. Right now, there is no standard for a Damage Prevention Professional even though what they do may save lives and prevent major damages to cable & pipeline infrastructure.
Alberta is changing all that by developing a certification program through Utility Safety Partners. This Town Hall will be focused on how this program can improve damage prevention, what should be included in the training, and how it can be rolled out globally. You voice needs to be heard.
