Right-of-Way Ground Patrols: Protecting What’s Below

A utility right-of-way (ROW) is more than just open space; it’s a critical corridor that protects the underground infrastructure we all rely on. Utilities such as gas, petroleum, water, sewer, telecommunications, and power lines run beneath these corridors, and protection requires regular patrols and vigilant monitoring.

ROW ground patrols help identify:
✔ Unauthorized digging or construction
✔ Signs of erosion or land movement
✔ Heavy equipment or vehicles operating near the ROW
✔ Overgrowth of vegetation that may conceal risks

🚨 It is illegal to build on, damage, or obstruct the ROW. Doing so can compromise public safety, the environment, and reliable service.
👉 Always watch for signage and markers indicating that you are near a ROW.

Let’s continue building a culture of safety by respecting ROWs and protecting our communities!
