A 5-ton mini-excavator was excavating near an identified underground utility. The excavator struck the high-pressure natural gas service, causing an uncontrolled release of natural gas. The site was evacuated, emergency services and the utility owner were contacted, and the service was repaired. |

A utility road crew was performing mechanical digging on a roadway to facilitate placement of a new water line service. While digging, the excavator contacted a gas line (1.25 inches, 60 psi), resulting in an uncontrolled release of natural gas. The immediate worksite was evacuated while the utility owner made repairs. |
