We will have a special presentation by Natalie Moreau, Directrice générale, Prévention et affaires publiques, APISQ on the Evaluation of the Social Costs of Damage to Buried Infrastructure. This presentation will include a comprehensive classification of indirect costs associated with damages and the proposal of a unique framework to quantify the impacts and costs through four case studies in Quebec. Best Practice Version 3.0
Best Practices Version 3.0 was released in January. These guidelines have been developed in partnership with industry stakeholders to ensure that the manual is a useful tool for planners, diggers, educators, and anyone taking part in excavation activities.
DIRT Report
The 2013 BC Damage Information Reporting Tool (DIRT) Report for the Year 2012 is the second report on damage and near-miss events involving underground infrastructure in British Columbia. Of the reported events for 2012, 73% occurred when excavators did not notify BC One Call (72% in 2011).
